About Spencer Bell

Spencer Beckett Bell, known by many as "Brother Spencer", is a life-long native of Hartselle, Alabama, where his ministry continues to operate.

"Throughout my childhood, I never distinctly remember doubting the existence of God, and His presence was so evidently manifested during several moments throughout my early life. I recall one particular Sunday morning, during our weekly worship service, sensing a deep urgency to walk down the aisle to make a decision. When I arrived at the altar, there was no pastor or church leader to receive me as I knelt with a troubled heart. Under conviction but unaware of what to do, I was left puzzled, out of place, and unfulfilled. I had no earthly idea what to think, the words to say, or how to even approach the subject of salvation. It was evident during this vulnerable time that I needed guidance. So, today as I present invitations to the congregations of which I am privileged to be with, I always attempt to make myself as approachable as possible in the event that someone needs counseling as they kneel at the altar.

I do believe that I was saved at an early age, but as I developed an understanding of the Christian faith and began engaging with the work of the church, I found that my life was not reflective of a Christian. I rededicated my life to Jesus Christ at Hartselle Camp Meeting. And, a few years later, I surrendered to God's calling upon my life to vocational ministry at the same sawdust altar.

I am presently in my 5th year of vocational ministry and looking back has never been a thought! The Lord's provision and sufficient grace has granted me the ability to fulfill opportunities which I never thought possible. From serving as a both an evangelist and pastor, I have witnessed but a portion of the highs and lows of ministry. If the Lord can use me, this old country boy from North Alabama, I am positive that He can use anyone who is willing to lay themselves before the Lord and allow His will to be done. He extends the invitation, all we must do is say "Yes, Lord!" with our utmost sincerity."

Spencer is a graduate of River City Christian Academy (High School Diploma), Calhoun Community College (Associate of Science degree in General Studies), and Athens State University (Bachelor of Arts in Religion). Furthering his education, he presently attends Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, where he is working on his Master of Divinity.

Spencer currently serves as Senior Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hartselle, Alabama, in addition to accepting invitations to preach revivals, conferences, special events, crusades, and any other opportunities the Lord presents. In addition to his present ministries, he serves as the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Spencer Bell Ministries, as Clerk of the Morgan Baptist Association, as President of the Associational Minister's Conference, and as a minister and friend to many in his community.

Spencer finds his pleasure in many ways, but music, woodworking, Alabama Football, and eating good food are four that provide pure joy!
